My name is Georgios Gkoumas. I have been working with computers since the late 1980s, when I experimented writing my first programs on an Amstrad CPC464 computer which came with the Locomotive Basic 1.0 programming language.
I earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Ioannina Department of Computer Science in 2002. Later, I received a master's degree in applied arts after graduating from the Hellenic Open University Department of Graphics Arts-Multimedia in 2012. My diploma thesis was about Using Open Source Tools for Multimedia libraries.
I actively pursue my interests in programming languages, databases, Linux and open source software. I have been an enthusiastic user of C, Perl, Tk for many years and now i am building systems with the power of PHP, MySQL and JavaScript.
Presently, I work as a computer science teacher in schools. My favorite activity is basketball, but I also enjoy drawing, painting and reading.
